“Whitehead is one of the most creative, exciting and passionate saxophonists in Europe and also one of the finest small-group composers”
Ian Carr, Jazz: The Rough Guide

One of the leading jazz artists of his generation, and former Loose
Tubes and Nucleus band member, Tim Whitehead brings to Bedales a one-off programme combining several aspects of his music-making. An original composition for a dance piece developed for the Laban School of Contemporary Dance will sit alongside music from the recent live album release Too Young To Go Steady, which won 4-star reviews in the national press. Kathleen Willison brings acclaimed interpretive talents to songs Tim has written with Alan Franks, the award-winning lyricist,
poet, playwright and Times journalist, and arrangements of the traditional English melodies Blackwaterside and Lovely Joan take full advantage of Tony Woods’ renowned expertise in this field. Altogether, a warming mix for a winter night!
